Dr. Virginia Hughson-Otte practices general and cosmetic dentistry with a focus on trauma reconstructive intra-oral surgery.  She maintains a private practice as well as being a staff member at Henry Mayo Memorial Hospital in Santa Clarita, California.

Dr. Hughson-Otte serves her patients and colleagues in several ways.  She is an active member of The San Fernando Valley Dental Society (her local component), having served as President in 2002.  She is a Delegate for the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association.  She has served as a CDA Chairperson on the Committee for the New Dentist and Council on Membership Services.  She has served her local component as a Zone Director, a Council on Professional Services Chairperson, a Fundraising Chairperson/Organizer; and a member of the Legislative Committee, New Dentist Committee, Diversity Committee, and Recruitment & Retention Committee.  She also served as a national officer for the American Association of Women Dentists for over ten years, serving as President from 1997 to 1998.

Dr. Hughson-Otte is a Diplomat of the American Board of Forensic Medicine, Forensic Examiners and the American Board of Forensic Dentistry.  She has received her Fellowships in the American College of Dentists and the Academy of Dentistry International. In an effort to advance the practice of dentistry and stay at the leading edge of her profession, she was a member of the teaching staff in the Senior Select Program for advanced clinical techniques at the University of California, Los Angeles, (U.C.L.A.) for seven years.

Dr. Hughson-Otte has lectured locally, statewide, nationally and internationally for the last eleven years.  She received the honor of being one of four women in the United States selected to present at the first International Symposium of Women in Dentistry at the University of Melbourne in Australia.  She was also invited to present a lecture series at the International Women's Leadership Conference in Nice, France.

Recently, Dr. Hughson-Otte was recognized as one of the Top Dentists in the United States by The Consumers' Research Council of America for her dedication and participation in State and National organizations as well as her reputation as a highly respected dental professional in the community she serves.
